Carrie Anne James is an artist, speaker, writer, teacher and entrepreneur based in Paris, France.

She recently presented her work at Blaye en état d’art in France; her prose in French is currently being shown in Blaye’s citadel, an UNESCO world heritage site.

She is the founder of French is Beautiful® and the author of The Paris Lessons.

Carrie Anne holds a Masters in Philosophy, specializing in Metaphysics and Phenomenology, from the Sorbonne in Paris, where she was awarded highest honors for her masters thesis on empathy. Her undergraduate degrees are in Music (University of California at Berkeley) and Philosophy (Sorbonne).

She is a graduate of The Veda Center’s meditation teacher program. She is the creator of the elegance of pause.

A member of SAG-AFTRA (the American guild for performing and recording artists), she has worked on numerous film and television projects as an actor, musician, translator and dialect specialist.

Carrie Anne moved to Paris in 2015 after calling New York, Los Angeles, Northern California and Michigan home, becoming a French citizen in 2022.

She speaks English, French, Spanish and Italian.
